Special Olympics

            

Alpha Sigma Alpha has two national philanthropies in which we participate in and raise money for every year. The philanthropy we put the most hours into is the Special Olympics. Every spring semester we raise money for the organization by having the Special Olympics House of Pancakes (SOHOP). Students from campus come hungry and leave happy. All the money collected from the event is donated to the Special Olympics. Then we travel to St. Joseph, Missouri and help out with Special Olympics for the day. Not only are you giving your help and donations to this organization, but in return you get love and appreciation from the participants which truly makes helping out with the Special Olympics a rewarding experience many of our women would say.

We also donate money to the S. June Smith Center in Lancaster, PA. Because this is so far away it makes it hard for us to travel there so we help out by raising and donating money, with our annual bowling tournament.
